Claude Levi Straus
Levi Straus was famous known for his structuralism and his proposed to the theory of binary opposites.
However, his structuralism is the idea that every system including social system. According to the media analysis which borrows its principles from the study of language. Structuralism considers the relationships between the signs to be more important than what a sign may mean on its own.
In 1900s , he proposed a theory of 'Binary Opposites' identifies how within media texts, most commonly films, there is a binary opposites between two characters or forces.
This is shown obviously within comics where there is a struggle for the good to win against evil. Here the example of binary opposites is:

- Strong vs Weak
- Humanity vs technology
- Man vs Nature.
